Terms of Service

1. Site usage

HostingProf is a public information site. You may read every article, run every public tool, link to any page, and quote up to a paragraph with attribution. Republishing entire reviews or comparisons requires written permission; email hello@hostingprof.com.

2. Account creation and termination

An account is optional — the public tools work without one. If you create one (via magic-link login on /login), you agree that your email is accurate and that the account is for your own use. You can delete your account at any time from /app/settings, or by emailing privacy@hostingprof.com. We may terminate accounts that violate the acceptable-use rules in §4, with notice via the registered email address.

3. Tool rate limits

The free tools run on shared infrastructure paid for by our affiliate commissions. To keep them available to everyone, we enforce rate limits at three tiers:

• Anonymous — 10 runs per minute per hashed IP.
• Authenticated (free account) — 30 runs per minute per account.
• Pro (coming Month 3) — 60 runs per minute per account.

Exceeding a limit returns an HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header. Repeatedly evading limits via IP rotation, distributed automation, or shared accounts is a §4 violation.

4. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

• Scrape the site at volume. Our reviews and tool outputs are free to read; bulk-extracting them for republication or ML training without prior written agreement is prohibited.
• Automate abuse. Do not point load testers, vulnerability scanners, or denial-of-service tools at hostingprof.com or its tool endpoints.
• Misuse affiliate links. Do not substitute our affiliate identifiers with your own, mask referrals, or solicit traffic specifically to abuse affiliate attribution.
• Misrepresent HostingProf. Do not claim a partnership, endorsement, or employment relationship that does not exist.

5. Liability disclaimer

HostingProf publishes information and runs free tools for general guidance. We do our best to keep the data accurate and current, but the site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any decision you make based on our content — verify critical information against provider documentation before committing to a hosting platform.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of the site is capped at $100 USD. Some jurisdictions do not allow such caps; in those jurisdictions the cap is the maximum allowed.

6. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which HostingProf's operating entity is incorporated. The specific jurisdiction and the dispute-resolution forum will be finalized at counsel review (LEGAL-06 founder-action). Until then, any dispute is to be raised in writing to legal@hostingprof.com and the parties agree to negotiate in good faith for 60 days before pursuing other remedies.
